Carbon and Net Zero

Measure, reduce and report your carbon footprint with factors that fit your grid.

Scope 1, 2 and 3 inventories built from activity data and a versioned factor library that defaults to the Kenyan grid, with targets, science-aligned pathways and a library of reduction initiatives.

Inventory from activity data

Fuel, refrigerants, electricity, travel, waste, water, purchased goods and more, by site and period. Each line multiplies quantity by a cited factor. Location and market-based Scope 2 are both reported.

Local factors, global protocols

The Kenyan grid factor is the default, not a European average. DEFRA and IPCC factor sets are imported with source and version, and custom factors need evidence.

Targets and pathways

Absolute or intensity targets, linear or SBTi-style pathways, year on year progress, gap to pathway, and projected arrival at the current trend. Offsets are recorded separately and never netted into reduction claims.

FAQ

Carbon and Net Zero questions.

Which scopes are covered?

Scope 1, Scope 2 location-based and market-based, and all fifteen Scope 3 categories, with financed emissions for lenders and funds in the portfolio module.

Where do emission factors come from?

A versioned library with source, region, unit and validity dates. Kenyan grid, DEFRA and IPCC GWP sets are preloaded. A factor without a source cannot be used in an approved inventory.

Can I set location-specific factors?

Yes, per country and per site, including calorific values for fuels.

How are targets tracked?

Base year, target year and reduction percentage define a pathway. Actuals are plotted against it each period with a status of on track, watch or off track.

Does the platform support SBTi?

Pathways can follow the 4.2 percent annual absolute contraction used for 1.5C alignment, and readiness for target validation is assessed.

What about carbon offsets?

Recorded and disclosed separately from gross emissions. AfriESG does not sell offsets.

Does carbon data feed the ESG score?

Yes. The inventory fills the GHG emissions topic automatically and suggests a performance level from sector intensity benchmarks.

Can I report to IFRS S2?

The inventory populates IFRS S2 metrics directly, including intensity and target disclosures.

We do not demo with slides. Tell us your sector and we will walk you through a manufacturer, a bank or an agribusiness on the real platform, in about thirty minutes.

Pilots are open now. The platform launches in the first quarter of 2027.
